From Temesvar we arrive, via Versecz and Fehertemplom, at Bazias, situated on the Lower Danube. Those who wish to see the natural beauties of the Lower Danube, here board a steamer of the Danube Steamship Company or the Hungarian River and Lake Navigation Company, and take passage for Orsova. The voyage only lasts about six hours, during which one is never tired of admiring the magnificent panorama. Until we have passed the Babakaj Rock, rising straight out of the bed of the river, the scenery is somewhat monotonous, but here the river narrows, and the rocky mountains of Laszlovar, on the Hungarian bank, and of Golubacz, on the Servian bank, crowned by picturesque ruins, mark the entrance to the beautiful defile of the Lower Danube.
