A number of prominent schools, such as the Royal Academy of Music, the Conservatorium and numerous private schools, provide for the training of the young, and prepare them for the highest artistic tasks. Masters such as Liszt, Volkmann, Hubay have taught in these schools and have brought up an art-inspired generation. Then for decades societies have existed here, whose aim is the culture of music and the furthering of musical education. Among these, the first to be mentioned is the Philharmonic Society, whose members are drawn from the Orchestra of the Opera House, and whose concerts play a prominent role in the musical life of Budapest.
