The hills round St. Endre and Visegrad are rich in natural beauty. The most interesting point of the whole hill-district however is the Dobogoko, which can be reached comfortably in 2.5 hours from Domos station, by the Budapest-March egg Line. Although only 700 meters high the Dobogoko is an excellent observation point; and from the precipitous, rocky declivity on the Danube side, presents an incomparably beautiful view over the superb Danube Narrows, and the vast plains which extend along the left bank as far as the High Tatra.
Excellent accommodation can be had on the summit of the hill, in the Baron Roland Eotvos Shelter House (built by the Hungarian Tourist Association), and therefore, no stranger should neglect to visit this most delightful point in the surroundings of Budapest, -- which rivals and, in some respects, even surpasses the most beautiful points of the famous Rhine district.
